Children's Hospital: five years old!
Help us celebrate the Oxford Children's Hospital's fifth birthday!
We're inviting some of the hospital's young patients to share some birthday cake and celebrate this special year.
The Oxford Children's Hospital was built thanks to the generosity of people like you. Every year up 65,000 children are treated here and your support means that we can provide the very latest medical equipment and best possible facilities for the babies, children and teenagers we look after – going beyond the NHS standard.
But we still need your help. Would you celebrate this special birthday by becoming a regular donor? Just £5 a month will help us continue to be able to provide the extra touches that can make a hospital stay a little easier for children and their parents. From chill-out rooms for teenage cancer patients to play specialists in A&E, your support makes all the difference.
Mum and former news TV presenter Katie Legder explains why she donates regularly:
"My son, Max, who is 7 years old, has leukaemia. He was diagnosed two and a half years ago and we are now regular users of the Oxford Children's Hospital, so Max and I really know what difference donations can make. Everything at the hospital is designed around the needs of children and there are fantastic facilities which really help when you are going through such a difficult time."
"I see everything in a completely different perspective as a result of what happened to Max, and I defy anyone to spend a week in Kamran's Ward – the children's cancer unit – and not come out feeling differently. I give £20 a month to the Children's Hospital because I can see first hand how the fundraising helps."
Gifts to the Children's Hospital continue to support facilities and equipment to treat, distract and calm our young patients. Whether being treated in the Children's Hospital, the Neonatal areas, Children's Ward at the Horton, the Cancer Centre – wherever our young patients are being looked after – your donation will make a difference. Please consider becoming a monthly donor too.
Please include that you want to support the Children's Hospital in the 'Additional info' box.
