Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is an important service for those with physical impairment as a result of disease or disuse. It has developed widely in recent years and now provides services to most specialist areas of medicine. These include the following.

The department also provides outpatient musculoskeletal services for patients referred by GPs on behalf of Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust. These are found at the Churchill, Horton General and Brackley Cottage Hospitals.

Physiotherapy is important to help patients regain their  physical capabilities, or make the best use of impaired function after a period of forced immobilisation and also in patients with respiratory disease.

The Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals is fortunate in having specialist physiotherapists in a wide number of fields working at the leading edge of development. We have close links with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy| and are actively involved with teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
