The Declaration, which is made to the Care Quality Commission, looks at 44 different standards which NHS Trusts are expected to meet, covering areas such as safety, the care environment and amenities, clinical and cost effectiveness and patient focus. It is a key element of the Care Quality Commission's Annual Health Check which will be published in the Autumn, covering quality and the use of resources. Other factors that will contribute to the quality rating are our performance against new and existing national targets.
